On October 22, 2010 the Governor General of Canada, His Excellency, David Johnston, presented a Decoration for Bravery posthumously to Hady for his heroic act of courage. Hady's brother, Hani, was in attendance to humbly accept the Medal of Bravery on behalf of Hady.

This honour and recognition of Hady as a true hero would not have been possible were it not for the many nominations that were sent in to the Governor General's Office on behalf of Hady. To all of you who sent in nominations because you believed that Hady deserved such high recognition: Thank you.
